Outside IR35 | 47.5 hours per week

We’re supporting the mobilisation of a short-term design contract within the regulated infrastructure sector and are looking for a Civil Structural Designer to deliver high-quality CAD design outputs for a fast-paced, multidisciplinary pipeline project.

This role will suit a technically strong designer with experience in 3D modelling, drawing production, and coordination across disciplines, who can work with limited supervision and deliver to tight deadlines in a regulated project environment.

The Role

  • Develop 2D/3D civil and structural design deliverables including models, technical drawings, and sketches

  • Use Aveva E3D, Autodesk Civil 3D, and AutoCAD to produce detailed and accurate designs

  • Prepare drawings for both temporary and permanent works as directed by senior engineers and design leads

  • Work within a Common Data Environment (CDE) ensuring compliance with project standards

  • Ensure draughting activities are delivered within budget, schedule, and technical requirements

  • Apply relevant codes, standards, and company/client procedures in all work

  • Communicate with other disciplines to manage design interfaces and ensure coordination

  • Engage with project teams, vendors, and clients to support design development and delivery

  • Attend site or office visits as required to support project progression and reviews

What You’ll Bring

  • Qualified to City & Guilds or HNC/HND level in civil/structural engineering or a related discipline

  • EngTech or IEng (ICE) professional registration desirable

  • Proficient in 3D BIM tools including Aveva E3D; familiarity with 4D simulation, clash detection, and construction sequencing a plus

  • Demonstrated experience in the design and detailing of foundations, drainage, cable ducting, steelwork, and reinforced concrete

  • Awareness of current design standards and ability to implement best practice in CAD production

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to self-manage and work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams

This is a contract opportunity offering immediate involvement on a high-profile infrastructure programme. If you're a delivery-focused designer with a strong technical background in civil and structural works, we’d love to hear from you.
