We're recruiting multiple Manufacturing Engineers (Tooling) to support a high-security defence programme in Reading. This is an opportunity to directly contribute to the UK’s national security and the continued evolution of cutting-edge, low-carbon infrastructure.

Your Mission:
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing and delivering tooling and equipment solutions that meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance. You'll join a team with decades of experience in nuclear and high-assurance environments, delivering complex engineering solutions throughout the entire lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design bespoke tooling and equipment using Siemens NX.
  • Lead and present at interim and design reviews.
  • Manage technical documentation: drawings, process flows, manufacturing instructions, and more.
  • Oversee modifications to existing tooling and equipment.
  • Maintain comprehensive design history files in Siemens Teamcenter.
  • Support procurement of tooling and equipment.
  • Capture and manage requirements to align with customer expectations.
  • Lead optioneering exercises—concept development, analysis, and selection.
  • Plan and run physical tests, trials, and experiments.
  • Use virtual reality engineering tools for solution analysis.
  • Ensure all work complies with environmental, health, safety, security, and quality regulations.
  • Handle sensitive information in line with strict security protocols.

Your Profile:

  • Skilled in Siemens NX, Teamcenter, and standard office IT tools.
  • Proven experience in delivering technical projects and driving performance.
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing across the full engineering lifecycle.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience in nuclear safety regulated environments; familiar with DNSR/DSA03 safety principles.
  • Degree in a relevant STEM discipline.
  • Familiarity with FMEA, SPC, and MBSE (Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect & IBM DOORS).
  • Basic Primavera P6 knowledge is desirable.

Why Join?

  • Work on nationally critical defence programmes.
  • Collaborate with experts from one of the world’s top 3 nuclear engineering providers.
  • Enjoy a 4-day working week on-site and access a range of employee benefits including holiday bonuses and an assistance programme.
  • Be part of a diverse, innovative, and forward-thinking team where your technical talent truly makes an impact.

Security Clearance:
This role requires Developed Vetting (DV) clearance. Due to the sensitive nature of the work, applicants must be sole UK nationals.
