Manufacturing Engineer – Tooling

We're recruiting multiple Manufacturing Engineers (Tooling) to support a high-security defence programme in Reading. This is an opportunity to directly contribute to the UK’s national security and the continued evolution of cutting-edge, low-carbon infrastructure.
Your Mission:
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing and delivering tooling and equipment solutions that meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance. You'll join a team with decades of experience in nuclear and high-assurance environments, delivering complex engineering solutions throughout the entire lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design bespoke tooling and equipment using Siemens NX.
- Lead and present at interim and design reviews.
- Manage technical documentation: drawings, process flows, manufacturing instructions, and more.
- Oversee modifications to existing tooling and equipment.
- Maintain comprehensive design history files in Siemens Teamcenter.
- Support procurement of tooling and equipment.
- Capture and manage requirements to align with customer expectations.
- Lead optioneering exercises—concept development, analysis, and selection.
- Plan and run physical tests, trials, and experiments.
- Use virtual reality engineering tools for solution analysis.
- Ensure all work complies with environmental, health, safety, security, and quality regulations.
- Handle sensitive information in line with strict security protocols.
Your Profile:
- Skilled in Siemens NX, Teamcenter, and standard office IT tools.
- Proven experience in delivering technical projects and driving performance.
- Deep understanding of manufacturing across the full engineering lifecycle.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience in nuclear safety regulated environments; familiar with DNSR/DSA03 safety principles.
- Degree in a relevant STEM discipline.
- Familiarity with FMEA, SPC, and MBSE (Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect & IBM DOORS).
- Basic Primavera P6 knowledge is desirable.
