Chemical Manufacturing (COMAH site)

Are you a hands-on Mechanical Engineer with a background in chemical, pharmaceutical, or petrochemical manufacturing? Want to join a well-established COMAH site where safety, technical integrity, and continuous improvement are front and centre? If so, this could be just the role you’re looking for.

We’re looking for a confident and capable Mechanical Engineer to join a high-performing team within a top-tier COMAH chemical plant. This is a varied and impactful role involving everything from project management and design work to maintenance support and process safety.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Projects & Design

Plan and deliver mechanical-biased projects – from concept through to completion

Carry out detailed engineering design work and review technical drawings/specs

Ensure project delivery is on time, within budget, and meets site standards

Implement smart, innovative engineering solutions to boost plant performance

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Take ownership of escalated maintenance issues – identify root causes and fix problems quickly

Feed into shutdown planning and ongoing maintenance strategies

Maintain accurate records of activities and equipment performance

Safety & Compliance

Actively participate in HAZOPs and safety audits

Manage compliance with regulations including PSSR, PUWER, LOLER, and PED

Ensure all work meets health, safety, and environmental standards

Work closely with internal teams and external contractors to support site operations

Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues across the plant

What You’ll Bring:

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar

Strong background in engineering and maintenance on a COMAH-regulated site

Excellent understanding of mechanical systems and associated safety requirements

Hands-on experience with compliance regimes and inspection programmes

Confident communicator with good problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset
