Overview:
We are supporting a key client within the nuclear sector in the recruitment of a Principal Electrical Engineer to support the final Principal Designer / Design Authority (DA) activities on a large-scale High Voltage Electrical Distribution Upgrade project.
This role is crucial to ensuring accurate documentation and system integrity across 132kV and 11kV infrastructure and will involve drawing validation and system updates using internal record/document systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and filter large volumes of electrical drawings across two internal document control systems.
- Assess and identify the most current and accurate representations of HV system installations.
- Migrate validated and correct drawings into the AO document/record system.
- Support Principal Designer / DA responsibilities in line with project and regulatory requirements.
- Work within operational High Voltage Substations (132kV / 11kV), ensuring compliance with all safety and access protocols.
- Ensure documentation and drawing management complies with site standards and safety requirements.
- Liaise with project and engineering teams to verify installations against as-built records.
Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (or relevant discipline).- Essential
- Professionally qualified to IEng or CEng status. .- Essential
- Proven experience in the design and implementation of 132kV and 11kV substations. - Essential
- Must have 'Person' status for access to Gridyards / Substations. - Essential
- Experience working in nuclear or high-hazard environments. - Essential
- Must hold active SC clearance and be eligible to undergo additional security and safety training for site access. - Essential
- Familiarity with engineering documentation systems and records management tools.- Desirable
- Experience in working under CDM regulations as a Principal Designer / Design Authority. .- Desirable
- Strong attention to detail and document control processes within large-scale infrastructure or regulated environments. .- Desirable
