A leading FMCG Food Manufacturer is currently recruiting for a Production Shift Manager to join the team.
This role will work earlies, Monday to Friday, 05.30am-14.30pm and will require someone with former leadership experience within a food manufacturing environment used to working at Shift Manager level with a team of 30+.
Production Shift Manager responsibilities include:
Manage staff, oversee the complete shift production and liaise with department managers/engineering on any issues that may affect plan and KPI achievement.
Deliver KPIs ensuring that the department achieves plan and that all schedules are met on the shift.
Investigate and report any downtime caused by either staff or mechanical issues, ensuring maximum efficiency
Complete plan attainment file on a daily basis for ‘Morning Meeting’ discussion.
Ensure safety, health, welfare and environmental awareness of all staff in department at all times by ensuring all are trained and aware of all relevant procedures.
Ensure that excellent quality product is produced to specification, liaising with the Technical Department
Manage the performance and development of all team members, ensuring that they are trained to at least the appropriate level and that training files are up to date at all times.
Ensure equipment is set up for the following shift start up to enhance smooth running and team work.
Manage and control hours within the department to ensure maximum efficiency of output and appropriate cost controls.
Deputise for Factory Manager and fellow Shift Manager as necessary.
Work pro-actively with support departments including Engineering, Technical and People.
Manage the departmental budgets including hours, consumables and chemicals
Promote and support continuous improvement within the team, processes and systems on both the shift and site.
Achievement of all Company, customer and regulatory standards in relation to health, safety, environmental, food safety and hygiene.
Manage absence, disciplinary and grievance matters as required with reference to the People Department as appropriate.
You will be a Shift Production Manager with experience working in a food manufacturing environment. You will have proven troubleshooting and leadership skills as well as excellent IT skills. IOSHH, NEBOSH or Tropos experience will be deemed desirable.
