A leading foods manufacturer is currently seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. This will be responsible for providing Environmental leadership for the site to ensure current standards are compliant and meet all regulatory guidelines as well as advising the Senior Management Team in regards to changes in regulations and suggesting any improvements to their Environmental strategies.

Environmental Manager responsibilities include:

Coordinate all aspects of pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental Health, conservation, and renewable energy
Lead the implementation of environmental policies and practices
Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and keep up to date with British, European Legislation
Liaise with relevant bodies such as Environmental Agency, Local Authorities and other public bodies
Audit, analyse and report environmental performance to management and regulatory bodies
Promote and raise awareness, at all levels of the organisation, of the impact of emerging environmental issues
Implement best practice in areas of corporate, ethical, and social responsibility and address any issues arising
Preparing reports for the company, environmental agencies, and government bodies
Develop and implement environmental management systems to continually improve the impact of the organisation on the environment
Train staff at all levels on environmental issues and responsibilities
Participate in environmental education and research
Operation of wastewater treatment plant
Keep ISO 14001 standard active and updated at site level

You will be an experienced Environmental Manager / Advisor, with a degree or post-graduate in environmental sciences / earth sciences being deemed as highly desirable. You must hold either a NEBOSH in Environmental Management or IEMA Certification and be trained in ISO 14001 standards. Previous or current experience in a similar capacity within a Food Manufacturing setting will be deemed highly advantageous.
