Our client, an FMCG Food Manufacturer in East Kilbride is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join their well established site Engineering team. This is fairly small site and you'd be working in a small Engineering team, so this would suit somebody either just starting out in their career or somebody more experienced within Engineering.

Either mech or elec bias considered and we will accept applications from any background, but ideally some experience of some form of manufacturing. Full training provided, professional qualifications and machine specific courses. 

In this role you will be responsible for reactive and planned maintenance of high speed packaging machinery, multi vacs and vemag. You will be able to contribute to ongoing continuous improvement plans as well as project and installation work. This is a multi-skilled role that will involve mechanical and electrical fault-finding and working on manufacturing machinery.  

Maintenance Engineer - Summary of core responsibilities: 
  • Optimum plant efficiency maintained or improved standards to maximise manufacturing 
  • Shift/daily reporting is accurate and timely though site’s reporting tools 
  • Involved in maintenance strategy through teamwork and individual projects 
  • Adhering and improving maintenance schedules 
  • Maintaining facilities as well as manufacturing equipment for efficiency and sustainability 
  • Supporting the maintenance strategy that ensures cost effective and safe availability and reliability of all assets (production and infrastructure) 
  • Adhering to practices to maintain a Food Safety and Quality focused mindset
  • Support trainee development to ensure the ‘next generation’ workforce 
Required Skills & Experience: 
  • Good track record of maintenance engineering within an FMCG environment. 
  • Good understanding of PPM techniques and associated maintenance software platforms 
  • Working knowledge of Legislative standards within the FMCG environment. (BRC standards) 
  • Ideally a working Knowledge of statutory compliance regulations for Steam, Gas and Electricity 
  • Proactive approach to Problem solving.
