A global FMCG manufacturer is currently recruiting a Quality Assurance Lead / Quality Engineer to be responsible for planning, organising, and coordinating the plant’s Quality Assurance activities, primarily focused on ensuring the overall quality of the manufactured product. The Quality Assurance Lead / Quality Engineer also helps to drive continuous improvement in alignment with initiatives related to ISO9001, BRC Global Standards, Lean Manufacturing etc.

Reporting to the Site Quality Manager, the Quality Assurance Lead / Quality Engineer will work in a cross matrix structure with internal operations teams as well as being a first point of contact for external customers.

The successful Quality Assurance Lead / Quality Engineer will ideally be educated to degree level in a relevant scientific, engineering or mathematical subject with quality assurance experience in a Food safety environment or similar regulated industry (packaging, pharma etc). You will have working knowledge of ISO9001:2015 and BRC regulations.

Responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Lead / Quality Engineer include:

• Interaction with customers and internal departments to manage customer complaints and concerns.
• Lead problem solving, perform root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans.
• Write customer-facing reports.
• Implement Statistical Process Control and SAP Quality Management creating and updating Control Plans, monitoring results, analysing data to help solve product and process issues, and escalating out-of-specification concerns to management.
• Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation
• Conduct internal process and system audits.
• Participate during customer and 3rd party audits, including helping with preparation, guidance and closure.
• Participate in the Hazard & Risk Management team activities and reviews.
• Coordinate activities with other Quality, Operations and Warehouse employees, using a team-oriented and collaborative approach.
