My client is looking for a LCMS - QTOF Analyst located in Manchester, working with the fastest growing testing, inspection, and certification business in the world. My client employees over 6,500 operating across 200 sites in 30 countries. 

Opportunity for a Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry - Quad Time of Flight (LCMS - QTOF) Analyst.  The successful candidate will be recognized for their in-depth understanding of E&L and LCMS-QTOF analyses including protocol and report writing. In this role, you will have responsibility for the oversight of all LCMS-QTOF work including E&L. You will be expected to be the subject matter expert to develop and execute experimental studies that characterize materials. The data generated plays a pivotal role in demonstrating the safety of materials in the application in which they are used. The scientist in this role will maintain a focus on innovation, process improvement, and operational initiatives.
Duties include: 
  • Will perform controlled, forced or simulated use extractions of container-closure systems, devices or manufacturing equipment, analyze extracts for non-volatiles by LCMS-QTOF in support of pharmaceutical product development or pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Will develop methods for leachable compounds on stability, write and review study protocols, and generate study reports
  • Applies practical and theoretical expertise in LCMS techniques to develop and execute non-routine experimental protocols
  • Leads internal initiatives that enhance the operational excellence of the Extractable and Leachable team
  • Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team of subject matter experts to develop Extractable & Leachable strategies that align to regulatory requirements for medical devices and pharmaceuticals
  • Interfaces with internal partners to interpret complex analytical data; including quantitative, structural elucidation and toxicological assessment

To be considered for this role, you should have: 
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with significant and relevant experience
  • In depth understanding of Extractable and Leachables approaches, methods and work-flow
  • Experience managing a team an advantage 
  • Conversant in the regulatory requirements of Extractable and Leachables
  • Must possess strong knowledge of E&L and solid knowledge of related disciplines, plus knowledge of quality and general business systems
  • Ability to design experiments and draw meaningful conclusions from lab data
  • Experience with polymer resins or material selection for the design and manufacturing of packaging systems preferred
