Are you an enthusiastic scientist or engineer at the beginning of your career, and would love to get your teeth in to some of the most exciting problems in the nuclear industry? Then this role could be for you!

This is a great opportunity to work for a highly successful international engineering consultancy, working on the most prolific projects currently happening within the nuclear defence industry. It will provide you with a broad exposure of skills, working in a highly talented and motivated team of Engineering Modellers, developing your experience within modelling across the UK, US and Japan. Some national and international travel will be expected as part of the role.

The work is primarily process modelling orientated, but due to the close-knit technical team on hand to you, this role will offer so much opportunity to develop in other capability areas such as strategy & advisory, safety, security & environmental, process engineering and site support.

Our client will therefore be looking for budding Engineering Modellers to possess the following skills, behaviours and knowledge:

-         Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Maths or related disciplines
-         Motivated self-starters, with a thirst for technical and professional development
-         Good technical communication skills
-         Problem-solving mentality – a key component to model development
-         Task management experience
-         Willingness for occasional international travel

Nice to haves:

-         PhD or further degree in a modelling related area
-         Experience in using modelling codes such as Simul8, FlexSim, MatLab/Simulink, Aspen Suite, gPROMS, Visual Studio
-         Fundamental grounding in science and/or engineering and a keen interest.
-         Proposal development
-         VBA programming
-         Baseline (BPSS) clearance
