I have a fantastic permanent opportunity for a Graduate/Assistant Quantity Surveyor to work with a leading engineering services organisation within the Process sector, based in Cramlington, Northumberland.

Salary ranges from £25,000-£40,000 dependant on your overall experience (Junior to more experience Assistant QS roles are available)

This organisation is a specialist design and build, engineering and construction company focused on high technology and complex industrial markets including pharmaceutical, healthcare, cosmetics, nuclear, aerospace and semiconductor. 

They provide building consultancy, construction, installation and process engineering to a
wide range of clients. The business operates major contracts which can include principal
contracting, large scale subcontracting and specialist services. They also operate their own fabrication facility.

Purpose and Objectives:
To assist in the provision of quantity surveying services under the direction of the Commercial
Manager and to train as a Quantity Surveyor. A Quantity Surveyor’s role is diverse within
the business but includes supporting the operational staff on all commercial and contractual aspects
of construction or Mechanical and Electrical High Tech Projects undertaken,
including management and reporting of costs and when required contractual matters. The
scope of work will be dictated by the requirements of the individual project and what is
required within the project team.

Essential requirements to be considered for this role:

· Have a flexible approach to learning and development
· Be prepared to travel throughout the UK
· Understand process and construction engineering principals (ideally M&E / Building services within the Pharmaceutical, Process, Industrial, Petrochemical sectors)
· Have excellent IT skills
· A Degree in Quantity Surveying
· Have an understanding of NEC3 contracts
· Clean room experience is desirable 
· Full project life cycle experience, with plenty of on site experience is desirable, but not essential for more junior candidates
