Maintenance Team Leader
£50k – 55k + Pension, Bonus, Share Scheme, Holiday etc

This is a shift based role:
Days and Nights 12 hours 6am/6pm and vice versa
Shift pattern 5on -4off, 5on -5 off, 4 on 5off

A fantastic opportunity to join the UK’s leading manufacturers of building and construction products based in Suffolk on their expanding plant. Our client has been in business for nearly 100 years and is one of larger market share holders within their multi million pound market sector. The company are now looking to appoint a new Maintenance Team Leader who will sit beneath the Engineering Manager and coach, mentor and assist a team of 3 engineers on shift. 

The role requires a strong multi-skilled engineer who had progressed into a role where he is leading and developing a team of engineers underneath them. Our client operate an automated plant with 4 shift teams on a 24/7 basis. The role requires someone from a manufacturing environment which is currently or has knowledge of working within a WCM or Lean Manufacturing ideology.

Within the role you will coordinate and prioritise maintenance requests raised through their CMMS system and work in conjunction with the team to ensure breakdowns are dealt with quickly and production equipment across multiple lines on site is kept running as efficiently as possible and all relevant KPI’s set are delivered within target and to agreed levels where possible. Our client is a world class manufacturing environment with systems and processes following this production system, so they are sourcing someone who has a similar background and mind-set.

The role will see you form part of the team that will help drive CI and TPM throughout the engineering side of the business, so you’ll have great opportunity to lead and take part in projects that will enable the continual improvement of machine performance and reliability.

This role will need hands on approach, working on the machines and leading the team by example, so you’ll still be someone who is prepared to keep their hand in on the tools.

If you’re someone with excellent fault finding and root cause analysis skills relating to breakdowns, and have or seek to project manage the actions to address recurrence on site then this might be a good role for you.

Qualifications & Skills
  • A Multi skilled Engineering background ideally qualified both electrically and mechanically.
  • A HND or equivalent in Engineering of either the Electrical & Mechanical discipline
  • PLC and Automation exposure our client us Siemens S7
  • A good knowledge of SCADA systems would be an advantage.
  • Team leadership experience or coaching experience
