Shifts – 4 on / 4 off
£35,000.00 to £38,000.00 DOE
Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley, Sheffield, Worksop, Pontefract, South Yorkshire.

A leading global blue chip FMCG manufacturer is currently seeking an Electrically Biased Multi Skilled Deputy Engineering Team Leader, to join their Engineering Team on a permanent basis to provide engineering shift leadership cover in the absence of the Engineering Team Leader and at such times as is requested by the Engineering Manager.

Key responsibilities include:

Attend breakdowns on production equipment and related plant. Apply practical engineering skills to return the equipment to full working condition.
Carry out planned maintenance and inspections on the plant. These must be done to a detailed level demonstrating a commitment to preventative engineering.
Undertake overhaul and reconditioning of plant generated through the preventative maintenance process
Whilst deputising for the Engineering Team Leader, the Deputy Engineering Team Leader will report directly to the Engineering Manager with dotted line reporting to the Production Shift Manager
Lead by example at all times, demonstrably adopting the business values and beliefs
Assign work and react to current situations, ensure planned maintenance and work orders are efficiently carried out.
Ensuring food quality/safety checks and paperwork are completed in line with customer and company requirements
Adopt a proactive approach to improving plant and equipment reliability through involvement in projects, development of plans and objectives
Effective communication with all key stakeholders including effective shift reports and handovers
Ensure plant downtime is kept to a minimum to maximise production efficiency and effectiveness
Reduce waste, ensure product delivery and maintain & improve efficient running of plant

You will be a experienced electrically biased maintenance engineer or team leader with wealth of FMCG Manufacturing experience (desirably within Food or Drink Manufacturing) who possesses a high level of understanding of fundamental machine operations with good organisational and leadership skills. You will need to be able to work effectively under pressure and work both alone and as part of a team.
