A leading chilled foods manufacturer is currently seeking a Head of NPD to lead and drive their NPD strategy and growth. Reporting to the Commercial Director, the successful Head of NPD will be responsible for the on time design and delivery of agreed new product development projects and renovation projects via multi disciplinary teams in order to meet customer and business needs.

The successful Head of NPD will ideally (desirable) be degree educated in a food science or related subject with extensive NPD management within the chilled (ready to eat / ready to cook) FMCG food manufacturing sector.

You will have experience of budget and people management. Recent experience developing ranges for Tesco is essential for this position. 

Head of NPD responsibilities include:

• To manage the creation and factory scale-up and, where appropriate, customer presentation of development concepts in order to explore and define product opportunity within new or existing product sectors.
• Manage the NPD team and oversee the NPD process to ensure that products introduced on time and to budget and with full business visibility
• To plan, define and manage the technical delivery of agreed projects, monitoring the provision of technical and financial data, ensuring that it is appropriately reviewed and updated in order to allow accurate business approvals to take place at the correct time for market opportunity and ensuring projects are delivered to the appropriate business standards and within the company’s Quality registration.
• Manage the NPD team and oversee the NPD process to ensure that products introduced on time and to budget and with full business visibility
