A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer to join an expanding quality department in a £40m+ turnover Tier 1 Automotive manufacturer based just outside Milton Keynes. With a longstanding history extending over 100 years as a business our client work with some of the most exclusive brands in the industry, with 95% of the their products going on vehicles exceeding €150k.
The role itself will be joining the NPI part of the Quality team, and reports into the NPI Quality Manager within the business. In recent years the business has had huge successes and already has contracts which are set to increase turnover to over £90m by 2020, hence the requirement for increasing the size of the NPI team.
The position will involve working close with the Project Managers and project teams to ensure new projects fall in line with specifications set with the supplier and the customer. You’ll work closely with the QA Engineering team to ensure you deliver your phase of the project on time and on budget.
Main duties of the role include the following:
-Customer liaison, both in terms of visiting them and working closely with their quality teams
-Advanced Quality Planning (Incl. Inspection Planning). Completing reports to customers and supporting Cross functional teams on MLA activities
-Review controls on the various programmes and ensure that they prevent errors from being made.
-Support SREA’s and other customer approval / change requests
-Arrange, control, monitor and supervisor inspection and or rework, monitor and approve, control costs.
-Customer visits & Reports
-Ensure all internal staff aware of all non-conforming material at customers. Arrange collection or return and investigate and take action if needed. Obtain customer concessions if required for rework and repair work.
-Control customer 8D, issue reports and close off 8D’s as your work through them, issuing quality alters where required.
-Complete Phase Exit
You’ll also be expected to review other quality programmes and complete internal system and process audits to ensure errors are not being made across the business. As a senior you’ll also identify areas of the business that can be trained and developed and work with the management team to deliver these to the team.
Background wise the role is looking for someone with strong experience working with NPI engineering within the automotive sector. If you have exposure delivering on the duties above and would like to work for a prestigious brand which will be expanding heavily in the next 2/3 years this role could be for you.

The salary for this role is competitive and will depend on the experience of the candidate.
The role also comes with a good company pension, 25days holiday + 8days bank holiday and is a Monday to Friday working week.
