A leading FMCG Manufacturer is currently seeking a Shift Engineering Manager to join their team. You will have a proven track record of leadership in a large, high speed manufacturing environment. The Shift Engineering Manager will play a critical role in supporting the Engineering Manager in managing, co-ordinating and controlling the site engineering activities relating to systems, financial budgets and people resources.
Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, you will manage the delivery of KPI’s and SLA targets to ensure the department achieves its goals. Alongside defining resource requirements, work planning and employee scheduling.
Initiate and lead analysis investigations into machine failures and be responsible for total asset optimisation and improvement via appropriate loss eradication methodology increasing manufacturing performance by minimising breakdowns of plant or equipment.
Shift Engineering Manager responsibilities include:
Delivering site Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) in respect to equipment performance, reliability and breakdown, maintenance completion, safety, attendance, budgetary performance.
Promote and support the company quality & safety standards, focusing on continuous improvement whilst contributing to the companies lean strategy, and demonstrating the company values and behaviours.
Project delivery within agreed framework and scale
Leadership, organisation and development of the engineering team
Manage minor projects which deliver professional standards and maintain competitive edge
Co-ordinate shut down activities and deliver planned work to time / cost / quality requirements
Promote and deliver PPM programme
The Shift Engineering Manager role will suit someone who is ambitious, hands on with a broad and deep knowledge and experience of PPM, TPM and continuous improvement programs and posses a good knowledge of site services within an FMCG food manufacturing environment. Previous man management experience is essential for this role.
You will require an excellent understanding of statutory requirements and current legislation and experienced in ensuring sites and buildings comply with Health and Safety requirements.
