As the result of being awarded a high value project, an opportunity has arisen for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join a leading client providing bespoke technical and engineering solutions to the nuclear industry.
From Nuclear engineering and design to decommissioning and M&E services our client has a strong track record of effective delivery. Ranging from small tasks to large scale multi agency projects our client has the experience and skills to deliver innovative, yet practical solutions into the most highly regulated industries.
The Lead Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the delivery of a waste retrieval system which involved large cast iron containers, pneumatic conveying, moving waste through the retrieval lines carrying radiological debris to other containers, some flushing systems, valves, control gear, level sensors. Project scope is quite broad and would suit someone with a broad mechanical background who is able to understand the connection between the mechanical elements of the project and how that relates to the Electrical elements.
Nearing completion of design, will follow through to manufacture so the successful applicant will be dealing with the technical queries and then the contracted to do the FAT’s in the North West. You would be responsible for writing the test documents, overseeing technical queries, resolving technical challenges and guiding the existing team in response to technical queries.
The Lead Mechanical Engineers responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Relevant Engineering degree
- Eligible to obtain security clearance
- 5+ years design and leadership experience with a highly regulated industry
