A leading FMCF Food manufacturer is currently recruiting for a Transport Manager to lead their distribution of product. The successful Transport Manager will be responsible for overseeing the site Transport functions. The Transport Manager will be responsible for the vehicle scheduling, maintenance, and operations for deliveries to customers.
The successful Transport Manager will have previous experience in a fast paced environment, responsible for a high volume of vehicles, drivers and routes. You will have a thorough knowledge of risk and safety procedures and legislation as well as transport legislation, working time and road traffic directive regulations. It is essential that you carry National CPC license and be a strong character to influence decisions and leadership of a team.
Transport Manager Responsibilities include:
Develop and agree department budget in line with guidelines issued from the Finance department.
Ensure that vehicle maintenance and repair costs are in line with the national agreement
Develop and maintain links with internal and external customers
Strive to achieve continuous improvements in service standards
Liaise with Customer Service Manager/ Production Manager to ensure systems are in place to guarantee the thorough investigation of complaints received.
Agree operating standards
Create, maintain and monitor a transport planning strategy
Direct all drivers to closely adhere to Group Health & Safety & Environmental Standards
Manage department resources to budgetary and group HR policies.
Monitor driver performance on a regular basis
Identification of staff training needs and responsibility to ensure mandatory training is completed and recorded accurately
Continuously strive to improve employee engagement by following the company values
