Mechanical Design Engineer Job in Reading – Nuclear


 


As the result of being awarded a high value project, an opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading client providing bespoke technical and engineering solutions to the nuclear industry. 

From Nuclear engineering and design to decommissioning and M&E services our client has a strong track record of effective delivery. Ranging from small tasks to large scale multi agency projects our client has the experience and skills to deliver innovative, yet practical solutions into the most highly regulated industries.


The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for undertaking engineering and design tasks in accordance with the business requirement so as to enable the delivery of the CA02 Framework to the client.


 


The Mechanical Design Engineers responsibilities will include but are not limited to:


 

  • Responding to client or colleague enquiry and take necessary action to develop an effective engineering
  • underpinning design calculations and analytical assessments
  • Undertaking engineering options studies and develop design solutions
  • Preparing engineering documentation to support design review and hazard assessments
  • Preparation of design substantiation, justification reports or other engineering documentation
  • Produce engineering drawings or other design related documentation
  • Develop prepare and present engineering solutions
 



The ideal candidate:
  • Relevant Engineering degree
  • Hold valid Security Clearance (DV would be advantageous)
  • 5+ years design experience with a highly regulated industry
