Job Purpose:


To be responsible for ecological issues and liaise with governing bodies to help to create a clear path of direction with relevant departments. Create ecological schemes. Organise walkovers to undertake surveys and protected species. You will be responsible for applying for licences and consents. Undertake ecological assessment of Implications on European Sites. 

 

Key Responsibilities:


  • Advise on ecological matters
  • Liaise with environmental bodies.
  • Identify and develop ecological schemes.
  • Project management of ecological schemes.
  • Production of reports where appropriate.
  • Undertake ecological assessment.
  • Implement ecology- related strategic.
  • Liaise with designers and engineers regarding environmental issues.
  • Design and supervise the implementation of mitigation.
  • Deliver training and toolbox talks.
  • Supervise teams working on ecologically sensitive works.
  • Actively promote Health and Safety in the workplace.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements are met.

Key Skills and Qualifications:


  • Relevant degree and experience of ecology in the construction industry.
  • Experience of working with protected species.
  • Holding some licenses such as GCN and/or bat licence essential.
