A fantastic opportunity to join an expanding business with over 40 years history designing, manufacturing and building a range of systems and components for a range of manufacturing and process industries with projects valued from a few thousand through to millions. Your role will involve supporting the established engineering team to be the link between design, quality, manufacturing and the end client. If you’ve been hands on working in machining, fitting or fabrication and are looking to step away from being hands on and use your knowledge in more of an office based environment then this role might be suited for you.
The role will be the interaction between customers, establishing requirements and then develop the process flow with the planning manager, production manager and engineers on the shop floor. You’ll bridge design, quality and manufacturing and ensure customer requests are possible, priced correctly and delivered on time.
You’ll work with design teams to deliver customer requests, and then work with them to quote for requirements from the drawings they produce. Our client have a really good link with a range of supplier of materials and systems who you will also work in conjunction with to deliver the end requirement, whether this be a brand new production line or a range of components for a smaller business.
You’ll be expected to be consistently looking for process improvement and will prepare the technical documentation used by the production team. If you come from a background providing customer quotations in aspects of manufacturing including machining, fitting, fabrication and welding, grinding, on-site services and design work then this role could be really well suited for you.
This role is about building and maintaining relationships with clients and suppliers resulting in repeat business and long-term relationships, you’ll hone and develop your skills in multi-project management and coordination to achieve the best lead times for customers.
-Time served apprentice or equivalent qualification mechanical bias (machining, fabrication, fitting)
-You may have come from a hands on background or worked as an estimator or planner with an engineering background
-Good customer skills
-Working knowledge of costing or estimation within a fabrication/machining background
