STRUCTURES TEAM LEADER

As the Structures Team Leader for the Area 4 Design Team the role holder will provide line management, technical direction and guidance to the structures team across in conjunction with performance reporting to the Design Manager. Liaison with the Asset Lead in determining the asset needs and solution appropriateness are essential. The role holder will demonstrate accountability and provide positive leadership through enthusiasm and mentoring.


Main Responsibilities
  • Report to the Design Manager
  • Work with them to achieve team and design objectives
  • Support the reporting of efficient internal KPI measures to monitor right first time delivery.
  • Ensure gateways and hold points in design process and procedures are appropriate and fully adhered to.
  • Actively capture and encourage process improvements.
  • Work with them to create a positive working environment by both challenging and supporting where needed.
  • Identify areas of concern within you team so they can be managed.
  • Ensure gateways and hold points in design process and procedures are appropriate and fully adhered to.
  • Fully understand the ASC phasing model, ie, Annex 20 (1 B / 2A, etc) and how it should be applied, this includes understanding of the commercial and delivery implications.
  • Provide assurance that structures technical designs produced for the Area 4 ASC Contract are safe, right first time and fully meet operational and contractual requirements.
  • Be a good communicator
  • Fully integrate with the IDT and Asset Team leads to promote and embed the 'One Team' approach.
  • Day-to-day management and mentoring.
  • Management of designs undertaken through the supply chain or parent companies.
  • Ensure the Principal Designer duties are properly undertaken for all design work delivered (In accordance with the current CDM regulations).
  • Impart knowledge and expertise throughout design teams.
