A fantastic opportunity for an experienced electrically biased Engineer looking to further their career within a manufacturing environment. Our client has won an exciting new contract leading to the creation of new roles within the business. If you have a strong background in programming/design/commissioning of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) a strong electrical engineering background, exposure to SCADA systems this maybe a great opportunity for you.

Our client is a manufacturer of a niche product range used within power generation, automotive, rail and sustainable energy industry sectors. The business has had heavy investment and work in a real state of the art facility with further investment coming in the next few months. Due to winning an exciting new project, where they will be one of the only manufacturers in the world making this product they are looking to further increase headcount.
This is a senior role, for someone who has been a hands on engineer, your duties will include,
- Writing specifications, completing troubleshooting, debugging codes and testing automation software for both PLC and HMI / Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) control systems
- Designing, commissioning and installing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) equipment, using Allen Bradley or Mitsubishi software ideally, although training can be provided on one of these if you have the other.
- Power supply control and remote interface communication, design, install and commissioning
- Assisting the maintenance team in carrying out maintenance, investigation, repair and improvement of site equipment and facilities, meeting customer requirements and minimising engineering downtime. (Overhead cranes, motors, sensors etc)
The working environment is really supportive, with people consistently assisting in other areas of the business, so if your experience is required on maintenance or design you wont mind getting involved and helping out, but also vice versa, people will be there to assist you.
If you have had exposure on 2D or 3 CAD design hardware and software systems such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks would be highly advantageous but is not essential.

Salary: Circa £45,000, level dependent on experience
Attractive Benefits: 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays with service increments up to 25 days per year, pension scheme
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours of Work: 37.25 hours per week.Flexibility available with start and finish times within the operating hours of 8am to 6pm, to be agreedat outset. There may be occasions where you will need to be flexible with hours to business demands although any overtime worked will be given as time off in lieu.
