Salary: £34-£36,000 plus company car and benefits, full support with APC
Due to my client’s continuing success in delivering commercial and cost management services to their high profile clients, they are seeking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join their team to support a diverse range of projects across the North East.
With a minimum of 2-3 years post-grad Quantity Surveying experience, you will be joining a vibrant, nurturing office and you will have significant opportunities for professional development to MRICS Chartered qualifications.
You will be working on a variety of new build and refurbishment projects and responsible for packages of work valued at £1-2 million, as a part of overall project values of £30-£40 million.
Primarily the clients you will be working with are in the Education and Hospitality sectors, and you will typically be working on projects in Primary & Secondary schools, Hotels and Commercial/ Leisure projects.
Quantity Surveying or equivalent degree from recognised University
2-3 years of post university experience
Good IT skills
Strong communication skills/ manage stakeholders effectively
Prepare feasibility studies;
Manage cost estimating and cost planning process, including presenting final reports to clients;
Contribute to selecting appropriate procurement route and tendering strategy;
Prepare tender and contract documents;
Review, analyse and report on tenders received;
Understand and administer (under supervision) standard forms of contract, such as JCT and NEC;
Ensure post contract change is managed effectively;
Undertake monthly valuations; and
Negotiate and agree final accounts.
In this full time position you will primarily be based in Newcastle with occasional flexibility sought for UK wide travel to company and client offices. Flexible working arrangements can also be accommodated in appropriate circumstances.
