This role is Monday – Friday on a 3 shift pattern - 6am – 2pm, 2pm – 10pm and 10pm – 6am

Our client are one of UK's leading Manufacturers founded nearly 60 years ago, producing over 500 million products per year as a business. They manufacture products that truly make a difference to the market they provide them to and are sold all over the world. This position is based on their site in Kings Lynn, with 30+ manufacturing lines and 8 different product streams and around 500+ employees. Due to expansion they are looking at hiring an additional engineer for their engineering team.

The role is hands on engineering; you’ll form part of the Asset Management team responsible for the repair and maintenance of the fast paced manufacturing equipment on their production lines. The role will incorporate both mechanical and electrical issues on a reactive and planned basis covering breakdown some new installs from time to time.

The production equipment within the business is predominantly injection moulding, high speed assembly systems and packing lines. You’ll conduct route cause analysis and investigations into issues that occur on the lines ensuring repeat failures don’t occur. You’ll assist with the scheduled planned maintenance (PPM) programme and also reactive maintenance on breakdowns when they occur, ensuring production is back up and running as quickly as possible with minimal disruption.

In terms of you’re background you will preferably be a maintenance engineer/technician from a fast moving manufacturing environment. The industry itself is not that important, this could be food, medical devices, FMCG or similar just as long as it's fast moving and preferably has regulation as this is a GMP working environment. This role suits someone who has a background in both electrical and mechanical engineering, it’s likely you’ll have a bias one way or the other which is fine.

You’ll form part of the 25/30 strong engineering team for the business, you’ll be part of a team of 6-8 on shift at any one time, and will be given full training within the position lasting possibly up to 12 months. So if you’re used to working in an engineering team and assisting one another learn and develop then this environment might suit you well.


-Electrical or mechanical time served engineer/technician
-C&G or NVQ qualification in mechanical/electrical or general engineering
-The ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams and drawing manuals
