Our client is a national, building services engineering business, specialising in design and compliance, founded nearly 30 years ago. With 3 UK offices, nearly 100 employees and a growing client portfolio ranging from £2m – 100m in project value. Our client has a current opportunity for an electrically biased Engineer, with a strong background in electrical compliance to join their team, covering their client base in London and the South East.
In terms of the role, the Compliance Engineer will be home based, working with existing and new clients of the business. The role will involve completing compliance based site surveys and feasibility studies, relating to the distribution systems and existing water systems within the client sites. The business works with a broad range of clients from schools/colleges, distribution centres, commercial offices and retail projects across the UK.
Within this position you’ll be delivering site surveys working closely with the client to undertake the brief given, and ensuring the client’s requirements are met. This could involve surveying the site, producing electrical compliance reports, producing schematic drawings and surveying for legionella in the water systems.
If you come from the building services or facilities industry and have a strong electrical background, with the ability to produce schematic drawings and be client facing, then this opportunity could be for you.
This role reports into the Associate Engineer, who has a heavy background in electrical design and project delivery, coupled with team management, so will be someone who can really develop you in the position long term.
Qualification & Skills
-Electrical qualifications minimum time served, HNC/HND is desirable
-You’ll have a strong knowledge of occupational health and safety, with their desire being either an IOSH or NEBOSH General Certificate
-Working knowledge of Legionella and water systems or appropriate qualification
-The ability to draw and interpret schematic drawings (water and electrical)
Our client are hugely committed to training and development, they would ideally like the successful candidate to have a good background in Health and Safety, whether this be in the form of and IOSH or NEBOSH qualification. They will however look to put the relevant candidate through a NEBOSH qualification if required.
Package and Benefits
Our client is looking to pay £35k – 40k depending on experience for this position.
The role is home based, and you will have full access through hot desk to any of the companies UK offices. You’ll find your time out meeting clients varies from week to week, but you’ll be expected to manage your time, to ensure you deliver to specification set by the client on time.
Our client do not provide a company car but do pay 45p per mile for your first 100miles and 25p there after so you would need to provide your own vehicle, your working patch is London and the home counties, but national travel maybe required on occasion.
Good company pension and holiday, working week will be Monday to Friday.
