Electrical Engineer (Compliance) – IOSH – NEBOSH - Site Survey – Feasibility Study

£33k – 50k depending on experience, plus pension and holiday

Our client is a national, building engineering services business, specialising in design and compliance, founded nearly 30 years ago. With 3 UK offices, nearly 100 employees and a growing client portfolio ranging from £2m – 100m in project value, they are looking to expand further due to success in the sector. There is now an opportunity for an Electrically biased Engineer with a strong background in electrical compliance to join their team, which will help the team manage their client base in Scotland.

In terms of the role the new Compliance Engineer will be home based, working with existing and new clients of the business, completing electrical compliance based site surveys, feasibility studies and producing design proposals. The business work with a broad range of clients from schools/colleges to distribution centres and commercial retail projects across the UK. Their compliance function works closely with the rest of the business  working closely with clients whom they have completed the building services design work for, but also as a bolt on for external businesses to have their sites surveyed and compliance reports delivered.

Within this position you’ll be delivering site surveys working closely with the client to undertake the brief given, and ensuring the client’s requirements are met. This could involve surveying the site, producing electrical compliance reports, offering design proposals and producing drawings and assisting with company tenders. If you have a strong electrical background, potentially coming from the tools or from higher education with a strong working knowledge of electrical compliance and delivering site surveys then this role could be of real interest. The role will require someone who is used to being customer facing, and is delivery focused ensuring specifications are followed and briefs are delivered in tine and on budget.

This role reports into the Associate Engineer, who has a heavy background in electrical design and project delivery coupled with team management so will be someone who can really develop you in the position long term.

You’re background ideally will be with a strong electrical bias, you may have worked on the tools and be time served or gone through further education. You’ll be required to have a strong working knowledge of delivery site surveys and producing the associated reports i.e. compliance reports and feasibility studies.

Qualification & Skills

-Electrical qualifications NVQ/C&G or Equivalent
-You’ll have a strong knowledge of occupational health and safety, with either an IOSH or NEBOSH General Certificate ideally to allow you to hit the ground running.
-Working knowledge of Legionella or appropriate qualification
-Design exposure (AutoCAD experience is desirable) to allow you to present basic design proposals to clients
-Experience operating within ISO9001 and 14001 processes
-The ability to read and comment on detailed electrical schematics within a building services sector

Package and Benefits

Our client is looking to pay £33k – 50k depending on experience for this position.

The role is home based, and you will have full access through hot desk to any of the companies UK offices. You’ll find your time out meeting clients varies from week to week, but you’ll be expected to manage your time, to ensure you deliver to specification set by the client on time.

Our client do not provide a company car but do pay 45p per mile for your first 100miles and 25p there after so you would need to provide your own vehicle, your working patch is Scotland and the surrounding areas.

Good company pension and holiday, working week will be Monday to Friday.
