An exciting new role to join an expanding HSE team of 3 reporting directly into the site HSE Manager. The role aims to continue to provision of professional HSE advice, support and leadership across a large pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.

The role will involve working closely with the leadership team and production staff across the site to ensure that you maintain a healthy working environment and compliance inline with industry regulations.

Job Description
  • To provide professional HSE advice, support and leadership to the site enabling the effective implementation of the site integrated HSE management system and utilising good practice to achieve legislative and corporate compliance
  • Attend appropriate HSE training as required for the job role
  • Support implementation of corporate HSE requirements
  • There is potential for this role to expand into line management in due course.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate safe ways of working including procedures,
  • instructions etc in line with site and corporate stakeholder expectations
  • Undertake specific risk assessments as part of the site risk assessment programme
  • Support / lead HSE event investigations
  • Provide coaching / mentoring / support to site HSE role holders including line management, safety representatives and risk assessors
  • Generate training material and deliver training on a variety of HSE topics
  • Provide guidance and support to line management and employees on a variety of topics
  • Develop HSE communication material eg tool box talks, HSE newsletter
  • Participate in site HSE workplace inspections and safety conversations
  • Participate in site HSE audit programme
  • Support site stakeholder visits / audits
  • To care for his/her own safety and wellbeing and the safety of others, and to co-operate with the company to ensure a safe place of work. Employees are therefore expected to:
  • Report any accident, incident or near miss, whether it be of personal injury or property damage
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role in a regulated manufacturing working environment
  • Degree or equivalent in a Scientific or Engineering discipline
  • NEBOSH Certificate
  • Working knowledge of environmental management systems would be desirable eg ISO14001, ISO50001
  • Knowledge and application of UK health and safety legislation applicable to regulated industry
