Scantec becomes the first recruitment business to be certified by the FCSA

Having confidence in your supply chain is a business essential – and at Scantec we’ve come up with a unique way of delivering that confidence.

As the prospect of being held liable for a failure by those further down the supply chain increases, the financial risks of non-compliance with legislation – and the possibility of being held criminally liable – grow. “That’s why we think it’s critical that our clients undertake due diligence on the whole supply chain, including payroll partners as well as recruitment partners,” said Scantec’s Jeni Howard, Business Improvement Manager.

“As a result we’ve introduced our ‘Supply Chain Confidence’ initiative – a way of establishing transparent compliance which will give real peace of mind.”

We have been working closely with the FCSA to develop the initiative, which enables our partners to demonstrate compliance with the Modern Slavery Act, the GDPR and many other industry-wide regulations.

Carrying out high quality due diligence will help protect against criminal liability for facilitating tax evasion through the supply chain – under the Criminal Finance Act that came into effect at the end of September.

Jeni Howard added: “This is a transparent and compliant charter which our supply chain adheres to, with all suppliers undergoing an assessment to gain accreditation by the FCSA.

“We are the first recruitment business to be certified by the FCSA in this way, which means all of our umbrella partners have been externally audited by a top four auditor to make sure they meet rigorous standards. It also means we are ahead of other recruitment organisations.”

The FCSA’s Julia Kermode said: “Our Accredited Members are not allowed to operate offshore schemes, loan schemes, trusts, managed services companies schemes, pay-day-by-pay models or similar so you can be assured of a fully compliant and ethical supply chain.

“We’ve been delighted to collaborate with Scantec to develop this initiative, which we think really will deliver supply chain confidence.”

Jeni Howard added: “We work with the FCSA continually to ensure the code of conduct is updated and revised to make sure all accredited members are operating compliantly with new legislation. That way we keep up to date with the many changes that keep on coming – so our clients don’t have to.”
