OVERALL PURPOSE
Develop skill base to become a P3e Planning Engineer.
Undergo a vigorous training academy within a Nuclear based
client.
Develop knowledge of P3e and Planning in relation to Project
specific work.
Provide support to the dispersed project planning team.
KEY ACTIVITIES
- Ensuring the delivery of SQESH performance in accordance
with the requirements of AWE SQESH policy and SQESH management
systems within all areas of this roles’ responsibility.•
- For implementing best practice project planning policy,
processes and procedures on projects
- For accurately identifying, controlling and forecasting
the time scales and resource requirements of projects to
minimise the likelihood of time overruns.
- For co-ordinating the flow of information to ensure that
interfaces both within projects are effectively managed
to optimise efficiencies.
- For developing and incorporating critical path, resource
and programme risk analysis into resource allocations and
the monitoring and reporting of progress against that planned.
- For progressing programmes, monitoring and reporting on
project performance, highlighting deviations, providing
early warnings and identifying and presenting project slippage
recovery strategies.
- For summarising data through the programme hierarchy from
detail to summary levels.
- For developing and managing a database to capture and
identify work rate norms and trends, earned value and performance
indicators.
- For responding to customer feedback on planning performance.

OVERALL PURPOSE
To manage the delivery of a fully integrated and Assured
design, safety case and requirements solution to the customers
satisfaction by establishing and implementing a Design Management
Plan.
Provide leadership to the dispersed project design team.
Manage the contractual obligations with the client and design
sub-contractors.
To promote and improve the integration of Design, Safety
Case, Requirements Management and Construction to deliver
customer satisfaction throughout the project process.
KEY ACTIVITIES

Overall management of the Design, Safety case and Requirements
team.

Ensure a thorough cost and change control processes is
implemented.

Ensure the design risk register is actively managed.

Identification of the project success factors, measures
and KPIs in respect of the design.

Control of design costs.

Ensure the design interface schedule is actively managed
and co-ordinated with the risk schedule.

Manage the design programme and provide progress reports
for the Client and Project Manager.

Ensure value-engineering is an integral part of the
design process to maximise value for the Client.

Ensure the design is signed off and frozen to meet the
programme requirements.

Raise early warnings against late information or response
from the Client or sub-contractors. Ensure that all information
requirements are shown on the programme.

Ensure there is a detailed change control process between
the design teams.

Develop and maintain a continuous improvement ethos
in the approach to project delivery, which generates added
value for the Client and TWC.
- Apply techniques such as construction simplicity and
prefabricated elements to achieve value to affect the overall
construction process
Influence the design proposal with consideration to sustainability
requirements in terms of assessment methods such as BREEAM.

| As a part of the Engineering Design Team,
you'll oversee the preparation and delivery of a broad range
of fundamental flowsheet and process documentation to support
timely and cost efficient design solutions. A challenge that
will see you acquire and develop specialist chemical and technical
knowledge for our manufacturing process and systems. You'll
also ensure compliance with all SQESH (Security, Quality,
Environmental, Safety, Health) Company and legal requirements.
A chartered engineer, with an HNC/degree in chemical or process
engineering and significant practical design experience, you'll
have honed your understanding of conceptual and basic design
requirements, installation and commissioning of facilities
on a regulated site. Nuclear experience would be an advantage,
although it is not essential.

| Working closely in our project teams and
with third party contracted companies; you will provide Control
and Instrumentation expertise and guidance to our capital
and major projects programmes. You will provide support for
control and instrumentation specifications and ensure systems
design and implementation are compliant with all statutory
and Company standards. We are also obliged to comply with
nuclear installations inspectorate (NII) license conditioned
and regulations. You will also be required to periodically
review and contribute towards the department’s standards,
guidance notes and procedures. A range of experience, knowledge
and abilities are required. Areas of particular interest include,
Safety System Design, C&I lifecycle deliverables, EMC/EMI/EMP,
ATEX as well as other C&I related topics.
Along with a relevant engineering degree or equivalent, you'll
need a minimum two years industry experience. Due to the technological
challenges we are facing we seek only highly motivated individuals
who are chartered or actively working towards Chartered Engineering
status.

Along with an HND or degree in electrical, mechanical or

gained within the nuclear, defence or power industries is
essential. There you'll have honed the outstanding interpersonal
skills and in-depth knowledge of FMEA/FMECA, FTA, RCM and
RBD's analysis techniques that will ensure your success.
