ASSESSING PLANNING APPLICATIONS FOR NEW RESIDENTIAL / RETAIL DEVELOPMENTS

A Highways engineer with varied post graduate knowledge approaching chartered status required to assist in the delivery of a variety of highway projects.

Working in the Leeds office on a diverse range of major and minor projects for the Highways Agency and other clients.

Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage elements of projects from instruction to completion.
Manage a small team of engineers and technicians.
Integrate with multi-disciplinary design teams, specialists, sit managers and third party stakeholders.
Commitment to achieving programme delivery.
Undertake estimating, cost reporting and forecasting for small projects and elements of larger schemes.
Involved in the tendering process for new work.
Committed to personal development and to development of the office as a whole.
Implement the company's Quality, Safety and Environmental standards.

Good Knowledge on Highways Agency (HA) or local authority projects.
Good knowledge of current HA standards, policies and processes, including the DMRB.
Degree in Civil Engineering or related subject with highway design knowledge.
Ability to produce practical solutions to design problems.
Ability to deliver projects within the client's budget and programme.
Ability to communicate well within the team and with Clients.
You will have the ability to use highway design software packages (MX) and a familiarity with AutoCAD.

Ideally should be familiar with ECC form of contract. Improvements and widening to A66, must have capability to work on trunk roads and motorways. Creating a new roundabout and bridal way for a bridge. Ideally should have worked on Highways Agency schemes and have knowledge of Traffic Mngmnt . Working on some earthworks and remedation and construction of a new Highway/link road

TO WORK ON HIGHWAYS INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT. NEW BUSINESS PARK AND ESTATE ROAD. IDEALLY NEEDS TO HAVE A CIVIL ENG DEGREE AND NEC PART 2 OR PREFERABLY 3. SITE IN HOLYHEAD

To produce Utility records, Layout drawings, Identify conflicts and creating diversions.
Work changes frequently so varied role.
Looking for someone with good knowledge of CAD and Highways.

To support the geotechnical head in Cardiff by providing technical and management supervision of staff for a wide range of projects requiring geotechnical input.

QUALIFICATIONS:-

Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnics or Engineering Geology

Preferably Higher degree in Geotechnical or other relevant subject preferably Chartered (MICE, C.Geol, MIMM)

Preferably have worked with a consulting engineer or contractor.
Ability for winning and developing opportunities an advantage.

Knowledge of management and direction of geotechnical aspects of building structures, development and infrastructure projects,

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION

Technical

Knowledge of investigation and design process
Familiar with local ground conditions and construction techniques
Broad design knowledge of foundations, earthworks, ground treatment, reclamation, underground structures, etc
Innovation and quality driven

Project Management

Supervision/Technical direction of more junior staff
Commercial Management of projects and assisting with business planning
Client liaison

Ideally HND/HNC in civil engineering or equivalent degree. Required to work on the development of highways and pedestrian improvements within a city centre environment

PUBLIC TRANSPORT SCHEMES AROUND BLACKPOOL. NEEDS TO HAVE WORKED IN A MANAGERIAL ROLE AND BE ABLE TO HIT THE GROUND RUNNING. ALTHOUGH THERE WILL BE SUPPORT, IT WILL BE MINIMAL. PREFER A LOCAL GUY AS NEEDS TO HAVE DEALT WITH LOCAL AUTHS ETC. WORKING ALONGSIDE THE PRINCIPAL OFFICER WITH KNOWLEDGE OF TENDERING AND BUDGETS, STRATEGY WRITING AND LEGISLATION
